HP BIOS setting on the T website

BIOS keys:

BIOS Setting: F10 or ESC

Boot Menu: F9

Legacy BIOS settings:

  1. Main: check hardware information.   "System Information" 'BASIC SYSTEM INFORMATION: "Product Name", "Processor 1", "Memory Size"'.
  2. Main: change the date.   "Change Date and Time" 'Change Date And Time: "Set Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"'.
  3. Main: clear system IDs, if it has.   "System IDs" 'System IDs: "Asset Tracking Number", "Ownership Tag"'.
  4. Main: apply factory defaults and exit, and then enter BIOS Setup again.    "Apply Factory Defaults and Exit".
  5. Security: (optional) restore security settings to factory defaults.    "Restore Security Settings to Factory Defaults".
  6. Advanced: disable HP sure recover, if it has.   "HP Sure Recover" 'HP Sure Recover: " HP Sure Recover"'.
  7. Advanced: enable legacy.   Secure Boot Configuration "Configure Legacy Support and Secure Boot: Legacy Support Enable and Secure Boot Disable".
  8. Save and Exit: save and exit, and then enter BIOS Setup again.   press F10.
  9. Advanced: enable and change the legacy boot order.   "Boot Options" " Legacy Boot Order",    "SATA0: XXXXXX" .
  10. Advanced: disable the UEFI boot order.   "Boot Options" " UEFI Boot Order".
  11. Save and Exit: save and exit.   press F10.

UEFI BIOS settings:

  1. Main: check hardware information.   "System Information" 'BASIC SYSTEM INFORMATION: "Product Name", "Processor 1", "Memory Size"'.
  2. Main: change the date.   "Change Date and Time" 'Change Date And Time: "Set Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"'.
  3. Main: clear system IDs, if it has.   "System IDs" 'System IDs: "Asset Tracking Number", "Ownership Tag"'.
  4. Main: apply factory defaults and exit, and then enter BIOS Setup again.    "Apply Factory Defaults and Exit".
  5. Security: (optional) restore security settings to factory defaults.    "Restore Security Settings to Factory Defaults".
  6. Advanced: disable HP sure recover, if it has.   "HP Sure Recover" 'HP Sure Recover: " HP Sure Recover"'.
  7. Advanced: enable and change the UEFI boot order.   "Boot Options" " UEFI Boot Order",    "SATA0: XXXXXX" .
  8. Advanced: (optional) disable the legacy boot order.   "Boot Options" " Legacy Boot Order".
  9. Advanced: enable secure boot.   Secure Boot Configuration "Configure Legacy Support and Secure Boot: Legacy Support Disable and Secure Boot Enable".
  10. Save and Exit: save and exit.   press F10.

Legacy BIOS settings for older laptop:

  1. Main: check hardware information.   "System Information" 'System Information: "Product Name", "Processor Type", "Total Memory Size"'.
  2. Main: restore defaults.    "Restore Defaults".
  3. Main: (optional) reset BIOS security to factory default.    "Reset BIOS Security to Factory Default".
  4. Security: clear system IDs, if it has.   "System IDs" 'System IDs: "Asset Tracking Number", "Ownership Tag"'.
  5. Advanced: change the date.   "Set System Date and Time" 'Change Date And Time: "Set Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"'.
  6. Advanced: disable secure boot.   "Boot Options" 'SecureBoot Configuration: " SecureBoot"'.
  7. Advanced: enable legacy.   "Boot Options" 'Boot Mode: " Legacy"'.
  8. Advanced: change the legacy boot order.   "Boot Options" Legacy Boot Order: "Notebook Hard Drive" .
  9. Save and Exit: save and exit.   press F10.

UEFI BIOS settings for older laptop:

  1. Main: check hardware information.   "System Information" 'System Information: "Product Name", "Processor Type", "Total Memory Size"'.
  2. Main: restore defaults.    "Restore Defaults".
  3. Main: (optional) reset BIOS security to factory default.    "Reset BIOS Security to Factory Default".
  4. Security: clear system IDs, if it has.   "System IDs" 'System IDs: "Asset Tracking Number", "Ownership Tag"'.
  5. Advanced: change the date.   "Set System Date and Time" 'Change Date And Time: "Set Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"'.
  6. Advanced: enable UEFI.   "Boot Options" 'Boot Mode: " UEFI Native (Without CSM)"'.
  7. Advanced: enable secure boot.   "Boot Options" 'SecureBoot Configuration: " SecureBoot"'.
  8. Advanced: change the UEFI boot order.   "Boot Options" UEFI Boot Order: "OS Boot Manager" .
  9. Save and Exit: save and exit.   press F10.

Legacy BIOS settings for older laptop with third-generation Core CPU of Intel and previous:

  1. File: check hardware information.   "System Information" 'System Information: "Notebook Model", "Processor Type", "Memory Size"'.
  2. File: change the date.   "Set System Date and Time" 'Change Date And Time: "Set Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"'.
  3. File: restore defaults.    "Restore Defaults".
  4. File: (optional) reset BIOS security to factory default.    "Reset BIOS security to factory default".
  5. Security: clear system IDs, if it has.   "System IDs" 'System IDs: "Asset Tracking Number", "Ownership Tag"'.
  6. System Configuration: change the legacy boot order.   "Boot Options" Legacy Boot Order: "Notebook Hard Drive" .
  7. System Configuration: disable HP quicklook and quickweb.   Device Configurations " HP QuickLook, HP QuickWeb".
  8. System Configuration: (optional) restore security defaults.    "Restore Security Defaults".
  9. Save and Exit: save and exit.   press F10.
